This is week #1 using cloth training pants for Chickadee K and so far it's going swimmingly. I've brought home about 2-3 wet pair of undies from daycare each day and she wets 1-2 more at home in the evening.
Frustrating for sure - but I'm going to stick with it. I refuse to buy any more disposable diapers. I just ordered some more cloth diapering supplies online and I can't wait to try them out! After EXTENSIVE research online, I selected Thirsties Diaper Cover in Candy Pink and Thirsties Diaper Cover in Lavender and a Bummis Whisper Pant.
I already had some Gerber cloth diapers I've been using with good old fashioned safety pins (nope - don't have any real baby pins) and some cloth training pants, so I just need to experiment with what absorbs more/leaks less. I know I'm in for some messy days and nights ahead, but hope it will be over sooner. (Apparently the wetness they feel motivates them to potty train faster.) *crossing fingers*.
I almost wish I had seriously looked into cloth diapering sooner! There are so many cute and functional options out there. I may have saved a lot more dough on all the disposables... I hope they stand up to all the positive reviews they received online.
I'm just psyched that our childcare provider is open to keep up with it. It can't be easy or fun chasing K. around, worrying about whether or not she's going to mess up her floors and furniture. Then having to handle all the soaked goods. Ugh. Just another reason I love my daycare!
At least she hasn't pooped in any of her undies yet - that's going to be nasty. I anticipated the big one was coming last night and was right! The potty chair was ready and waiting for her!
Since it took until Chickadee A was 3 years old by the time she was 'trained' (at least keeping dry during the day) - I may have a long road ahead of me... I hope I can endure...
