The Burden of Dogs

I recently wrote a confession over at the Sarcastic, Funny and Brutally Honest blog about my disdain for dogs.

How timely then, that I just saw Frugal Dad's recent infographic on 'America's Pet Frenzy'. It just reinforces my dislike for having dogs at this time in my life (or ever again).

To be fair, I don't like my cat right now either.

Funny Moments

"Mommy, your pee always smells." - DD7 4/13 as I peed for an audience of three as usual.
DS2 - EVERYTHING he says every day is so cute and brilliant! He's a clever communicator.
"Sometimes I think mean thoughts in my head." - DD5 4/15/13 and described how she imagined telling her best friend something like 'I hate you.'
"You're a monster!" "You're evil!" - DD7 3/15/13 after asking her why she giving me attitude and if she was mad at me.
"You're the most beautiful mom in the whole world. I've seen other moms adn they aren't as pretty as you. I like your golden hair; it's like Rapunzel." - DD5 3/12/13
"I'm pretending every day is a movie. It's really long and giants are watching us." - DD5 3/10/13.
Me to DS 2 "Do you want to potty train?" Him: "YES! Want potty choo choo!!" - 2/13
"Are you friends with Gwen Stefani, Mom?" Me: "No." "You should be." - DD7 1/13 after listening to the song 'this shit is bananas, B A N A N A S!'
"I'm going to be a fashion girl when I grow up." - DD5 1/13
After writing 10 sentences (compulsory) of "I will control my anger," I looked over my DD7's shoulder and saw she had written "I HATE YOU" on her paper. - 12/31/12
"I want brown skin. Everyone in Los Angeles has brown skin." - DD7 11/12; after we spent the afternoon sightseeing and visiting Griffith Park.
"Ew! You wagged your boob at me!" - DD7 10/12
"Ew! Your butt is wrinkled!" - DD7 9/12
"You look really stylish in your clothes for work; except for those shoes and pants." - DD4 4/2012
"You look kinda fat in those pants." - DD4 1/2012
"You'd look a little cuter if you wore a dress." - DD4 1/15/12
"What if we were on TV and everyone was watching us right now?" - DD4 9/2011
"Don't let her put her butt on my rug!!" (me to DD6 about dog who is sick). Dog proceeds to fart repeatedly like a motor boat while sitting on my rug. Then DD6 starts to fart. - 10/28/11.
"That's ridic-lee-ous!" DD6 - 10/25/11 (after telling her how babies are made).
DS @ 6 weeks: Coos, laughes in sleep, smiles at paintings on the wall, smiles at me, sleeps more than 5 hours at night, holds head up strong, no more baby acne or cradle cap.
"Help! Help! Emergency! Emergency! 911! I have to go potty!" - DD3 - 1/11
"Mom! The letter P looks like penis!" (Running in to find me in the shower with Pippi Longstocking book.) - DD3 - 1/23/11
"Watch this Daddy!" as she proceeds to hop up and down as if jumping rope; ripping big farts after each jump - DD5 - 1/13/11
"I'm feeding my baby." (lifting up her shirt to nurse her doll.) - DD3 - 1/13/11
"Diego has nice eyes and hair." DD3 - 1/12/11
"I'm going to be a fashion girl when I grow up." - DD5 1/13
