It's common to get an ultrasound with your yearly mammogram hon. I wouldn't stress about it. I know you will anyway lol I did too after my first experience. Yet for all the hassle it's only to keep you safe and healthy, or so I remind myself!

As for that Diva cup review omg LOL that was the most hilarious review of anything I've ever read in my life. GREAT stuff haha. I felt the same way as that poster, Ben Dover lol. My Diva Cup remains in it's special little drawstring bag in my shoe drawer. I gave up on it big time.

Thanks for all of the support! The guilt was short-lived and my daughter was so happy to see me there! My boss seems to be very understanding of missing work for family or doctors appointments, so that's a relief.

Ughh can totally relate. The guilt! I currently work from home. I have for 7 years and have been thinking about going outside of the house but I really enjoy the flexibility plus I agree I'm way more productive. Keep up the good work!

We can't win! If we only work, we feel guilt about not being home enough to raise our kids, if we're only at home, we feel guilt about wasting our own potential/financially contributing to the household, and if we work part-time we feel both. It's such a shame. I hope that the play was adorable to see!

Man, the guilt of motherhood lurks around every corner, doesn't it! You are not alone. My daughter's dad (not together) has to miss her 1st school play ever and I felt so bad about it I invited extra people to make up for it. LOL! We moms shoulder a lot - hang in there!

My husband's mother is pretty cold. I've never seen her give him any sort of affection. However, he's grown cold to her too. Maybe it's easier for guys to cut themselves off from things or people that hurt them.
My advice to you is to cut her off. Obvious and dumb advice I know. But I suggest that you re-focus your pain of not having a mom in your life and focus on having a great relationship with your own kids instead. She's the one that is missing out. You and your kids are really fantastic, super interesting, beautiful and funny people that the rest of us are LUCKY to have in our lives. I thank the stars everyday that you are my friend (even if you do suck and never email me and I never call you).
Bottom line? She sucks now move on.

I feel exactly the same way about my mom. Exactly. The few times that I do see her per year she always asks when I am going to have another baby. I want to say "so you can ignore another grandchild?" So frustrating and depressing. I have no words of advice but lots of empathy.

Interesting, I am an RN with a Master's degree....I CHOSE to stay home with my kids....I wanted them to have consistency since my husband's work schedule is so erratic and intense...these years are so precious and important to them...I KNOW I can always go back...but I do believe that whether a woman wants to pursue her career while raising a family or stay home, it's her choice and there should be absolutely no judgment
